Escape from Paradise

Returning to the Big Island of Hawaii, Iraq war veteran AJ Hackett looks forward to healing the scars left on his body and spirit by enjoying the balmy weather, visiting old friends, and building a new home. His dreams are shattered when a case of mistaken identity makes him the target of an intense manhunt with a price on his head that increases by the day. His problems are multiplied when a conspiracy makes him the pawn in a deadly game between the local drug cartel and rogue government officials. With all exits off the island tightly sealed, no place to hide, and few if any allies, his quest for survival takes him into the seedy underworld of Hawaii the visitor never sees. Caught between official malfeasance on one side and a bloodthirsty gang of cutthroats on the other, he must rely on his wit and resourcefulness to fight back, or lose his life-as well as that of his new found love interest. Set against the backdrop of the peaceful traditions of a beautiful island, the sudden violence exposes an undercurrent of criminal elements operating by an unwritten code of their own, and reducing Hackett's options to kill or be killed.
