Elmira Prison Camp Roster is a thoroughly researched and detailed roster that contains 98% of all the Confederate soldiers sent to the prison. This three-volume set contains the soldier's name, rank, his company, when and where he enlisted, his regiment, where he was captured and his fate at Elmira Prison Camp.
One of the most important things to come out of this study was being able to assist those who are researching their relatives from the American Civil War. Many people today are certain their great-great grandfather or uncle went to prison, but they are not sure which prison he went to. If they consult Elmira Prison Camp Roster it is likely they will find their relatives in this set of three volumes. It is recommended that all three volumes be sold as a set.
Elmira Prison Camp Roster Volume III O-Z" includes:
- Roster O through Z of Confederate Prisoners sent to Elmira Prison.
- Appendix that contains important information on the prisoner's physical condition. This
includes a description of deadly civil war diseases at Elmira Prison Camp, a monthly graph of
the number of prisoners who died, Confederate prisoners who died during the exchange, and
prisoners who have no grave in Woodlawn National Cemetery.
