Con O Sin Dios

Through written correspondence, Francesc Torralba and Vicenc Villatoro--a self-proclaimed Christian skeptic and an agnostic, respectively--discuss topics such as the meaning of life, a created God versus a creating God, the sacred and the profane, the religious sphere and the public sphere, death and consolation, ethics without God, beauty, the mystery of evil, the transferring of values and beliefs, the existence of Christians, and spirituality without faith. This collection of back-and-forth letters is a dialogue of ideas and experiences shared in writing over half of a year, from the beginning of the summer through the Christmas celebrations. The contents of the book juxtapose not only a believer and a nonbeliever, but also a philosopher and a writer and a theologian and a journalist. Both men often treat the collected letters as a journal of open, uninhibited statements about the inner and outer paths of life itself. A traves de la correspondencia escrita, Francesc Torralba y Vicenc Villatoro--un autoproclamado cristiano esceptico y un agnostico, respectivamente--tratan temas como el sentido de la vida, Dios creado o Dios creador, lo sagrado y lo profano, la esfera religiosa y la esfera publica, la muerte y el consuelo, una etica sin Dios, la belleza, el misterio del mal, la transmision de valores y convicciones, la existencia de los cristianos y la espiritualidad sin fe. Esta recopilacion de cartas intercambiadas es un dialogo de ideas y experiencias compartidas por escrito durante medio ano, entre el inicio del verano y las celebraciones navidenas. El contenido del libro confronta no solo a un creyente y a un no creyente, sino tambien a un filosofo y a un escritor y a un teologo y a un periodista.
