For many years, the renowned expedition paddler has been one of the most successful extreme athletes in the world. She record-circumnavigated Iceland (2007), New Zealand South (2007), and Australia (2009). Freya started 2011 on her second continent, a project that no one had ever tried - rounding South America in a sea kayak.

It took Freya four years to complete the journey, stretching from the Panama Canal to Cape Horn, over thirteen countries, 27.000 km, and crossing the equator twice. Freya Hoffmeister (1964) is a former gymnast, bodybuilder, and skydiver living in Husum/ Germany. When not paddling, she looks after her two Janny's Eis Cafés or works as a motivational speaker and book author.
