Cancers of the mind are the result of abnormal growths of cells in the mind. Brain malignancies can occur from main brain cells, the cells that form other brain components (for example, membranes, arteries), or from the development of malignancy cells that develop in other organs and which have pass on to the mind by the blood stream (metastatic or supplementary brain tumor).
Although some growths in the mind are popularly called brain tumors, not absolutely all brain tumors are cancerous. A tumor is merely scores of cells. A harmless tumor comprises cells that are not cancerous. A malignant tumor is made up of cancers cells. Malignancy is a term reserved for malignant tumors. Malignant tumors are comprised of aggressively growing, abnormal-appearing cells known as cancer cells.
