"Between a Mosque and a Hard Place" tells the story of a U.S. Marine Corps infantry officer in Fallujah, Iraq in November, 2004.
1st Lieutenant Palmer Jones was the 1st Battalion, 8th Marines Battalion Liaision Officer who commanded both the Iraqi Special Forces and the 2nd Battalion of the reconstituted Iraqi Army during Operation Al Fajr "Operation Phantom Fury". Operation Phantom Fury was the November, 2004 allied assault on the enemy sanctuary of Fallujah, Iraq.
Fallujah was the largest urban combat operation in recent history since Hue, Vietnam in 1968. "Between a Mosque and a Hard Place" documents the challenges, bravery and tragedy of the battle of Fallujah from a Marine grunt's perspective.
