Barber's Haven is a mystery set in a barbershop located in a suburb in Massachusetts. Doc has an unusual psychological attachment to his barber, Dave, who owns the barbershop in Town Square. When the barbershop becomes associated with two suspicious deaths in a short span of time, Doc and Dave's friendship is nearly jeopardized. Who is responsible? All signs point to Dave. Yet both deaths are not clear-cut homicide, one ruled accidental electrocution and the other ruled suicide. With rumors floating around the residents, Doc begins to believe his barber may be innocent. He single-handedly begins an investigation that almost costs him his life - twice Doc's naivet forces his wife, Maya, to reluctantly join him with the hopes of saving Doc from himself. Many questions are unanswered. These questions come to a head when Doc's medical practice is vandalized and robbed, accelerating the family's effort to find and apprehend the murderer. Barber's Haven is the first of the many books of the 'North Main Street' series.
