This is a guide and activity book that complements Barbara Ayosea Morse's Tales from Squnch Valley. It is for teachers, child-care workers, and therapists who work with children of all ages from different races and cultures. Because of the racial tensions in our society, books with universal characters, such as Squnches, are greatly needed. The book offers movement, visualization, art, and writing activities for children in grades K-6, which may also be adapted for younger children or adolescents. It's an excellent resource for teachers and counselors in treatment centers and for parents educating their children at home during this global pandemic. When school resumes, the stories and activities are also appropriate for classrooms and after-school programs. This guide explains how the Squnch tales came about and points out how the stories help children to live in harmony with nature and with each other, so important in today's often chaotic society.
