Known for her words of inspiration, Helen Steiner Rice's gift for words continues to touch the lives of millions around the world, and many of her poems are published (formerly) in Gibson Greeting Cards, and (currently) in American Greeting Cards.
This is a biography of Helen's life in Lorain, Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio spanning 1900-1981. It also tells of parts of her extraordinary legacy. Although she often experienced a painful persona life-her husband filing bankruptcy and committing suicide three years after their wedding day, Helen was committed to spreading the eternal message of love. Lamp shade designer, advertising manager, book keeper and editor of Gibson Publishing, Helen was a most industrious individual who advocated women's rights in the workplace.
By 1940, Helen was widely acknowledged as one of the leading poets in the greeting card industry, but her work is also published in over 72 books!
