Beskrivelse
After forty years of teaching children, Peggy Laufer retired. Most mornings in the year that followed she drove out to Plum Island, near her home in Newburyport, Massachusetts. She went to quell the loneliness she felt for her students, and to reckon more deeply with the loss of her father years before, and to embrace her new freedom. Every day, she tried to write a poem. A Plum Island Year is a selection of the poems she wrote during that time-a celebration of seeing, nature, and being.
