Beskrivelse
The fable is one of the most beloved and easily recognisable types of literature. It is a story stripped to its bare minimum, written not only to amuse, but inform us of the consequences of certain types of behaviour. The fable also has a rich history, and, long before the advent of writing, was passed down orally from generation to generation in nearly every single country in the world. Needless to say, the best-known of these short stories have been ascribed to Aesop, and are at least two-thousand years old.
But sadly, the fable is now deemed at best old-fashioned, and at worst archaic, and is on the verge of becoming a forgotten art form. So, in 100 Enchanting Fables, we now have an opportunity to revisit this lost world. Here, the reader will wander through a delightful realm in which animals, people, gods and the spiritual personifications of Death, Hope, Karma, Destiny and Fortune interact and resolve simple moral or practical riddles in a humorous, reflective or poignant manner.
100 Enchanting Fables is the first of two books of original and previously unpublished fables, and is suitable for anyone between 14 and 140 years old.
