Wales, 1959. At twenty-two years old, Faith Pryor wants nothing more than a family of her own. She hasn't seen her parents or sister since she was evacuated from London during World War II. Her relationship with Nick Harris seems to be going well. Surely he will propose soon? But Nick has other plans. News of Faith's heartbreak soon spreads around the small Welsh village and she runs away to the coast for a fresh start. Then Faith meets Matt Hewitt and he sweeps her off her feet. For the first six weeks they are inseparable and he soon proposes. It's everything she's ever wanted, isn't it? But Matt's bouts of temper worry her. He's jealous and possessive and soon Faith has no choice but to run away again. This time she's running from the man she promised to marry. Matt won't let Faith get away that easily.
