SILK DRAGON is a story of adventure on the high seas, fierce battles with hostile kings and behind-the-scenes intrigue within the royal court. It's a story of competition among royal concubines, accumulation of fabulous riches and justice by the sword. SILK DRAGON is also a love story. Zheng He's childhood sweetheart, Xi Chen, is forced to become a lady-in-waiting to the imperial court. She desperately loves Zheng He and has pledged never to share herself with another man. But when Emperor Zhu Di requests that Zheng He bring Xi Chen to his private quarters, the faithful servant is forced to obey. Zheng He, Xi Chen and Emperor Zhu Di share a relationship that is both tragic and beautiful. The three are drawn together into a web of circumstance that is at the very core of China's strength and weakness.
