Harry Karnac began to specialise in psychoanalytic bookselling at the suggestion of Donald Winnicott, a customer at Karnac's bookshop in Gloucester Road during the late 1950s. The two became good friends and Harry's interest in Winnicott and his works has remained strong ever since.
