At the turn of the twentieth century the simple postcard became the go-to means of communication for thousands of Victorians and Edwardians, sharing their greetings, their stories and their gossip. The equivalent of the modern-day ‘status update’, the postcards in this collection reveal the ordinary lives of the people of Yeovil, from tourists to locals. While many of the sights of the town remain the same, each postcard is a unique snapshot of a place and time.
