When Worlds Collide is an erotic supernatural thriller in which Gabriel Michaels is a best-selling author who has lived alone in his large three-story house near Port Angeles, Washington ever since his ex-wife nearly kills him in a fit of rage a dozen years ago. Fearful of commitment, Gabe's heart is finally awakened to the possibility of being able to love again when a beautiful new waitress named Charlie Evans starts working at his favorite diner. With the awkwardness of a teenager, he begins a torrid and tumultuous relationship with this brash, young woman nearly half his age who already has one male in her life, an over-protective Alaskan malamute named Max who thinks he's human as well. Meanwhile, Gabriel has just begun to work on his eleventh novel, but after a few weeks he realizes that something isn't quite right as the characters he's writing about begin to take over the story, leading him to believe that there is something sinister and evil lurking beneath the lines of prose on his computer. As he continues to record their story, he soon discovers the boundary between their world, and this world is beginning to blur. But that is just the beginning. Just weeks into his roller coaster relationship with Charlie, he begins to experience dreams with such realism, vividness, and rich detail, it comes as no surprise when he learns that he is now able to consciously control and manipulate what happens within his dreamscape. But he soon becomes aware that he has caught the attention of a powerful and seemingly unstoppable malevolent entity that has now set its sights on killing not only his friends and framing him for the heinous crimes, but perhaps his last best chance at love, Charlie Evans.
