John Marks takes his readers on a journey to Vietnam, where he was faced with horrific sights and painful memories that he still carries with him today, but however agonising they were, Marks was able to find love and hope. Uncertain Shores is a collection of poetry about the ambiguity of being travellers in strange lands, the hazy future, and the feelings elicited from it. It makes you wonder about the after, leaving you with a sense of want and longing, aching to reach out into the vastness of the unknown.
