This book tells the story of animal trapping starting at the beginning. It will bring readers face to face with trappers and into close contact with the business of manufacturing fur while dispelling some of the common myths associated with trapping. And it will ask why the Congress of the United States is unable to break off its romance with this cruel industry and put the trapping of animals to an end. No argument can ever justify cruelty to animals in any form. They are the innocents of the world who deserve protection from those members among human ranks who believe that cruelty toward animals is acceptable human behavior. More than anyone, this refers to those members of the powerful and wealthy upon whom the fur trade rests. They are responsible for the continuation of the cruel practice of trapping animals. Viewed from every conceivable angle, the trapping of animals occupies one of history's most brutal chapters. It is time to bring that chapter to a close. Those who are addicted to fur can use their creative energies in a positive manner to look within to find new ways for satisfying their fashion needs in a manner which does not require the brutal killing and torture of God's most innocent creatures.
