This book is a collection of short concurring opinions written by Associate Justice Clarence Thomas. Published to coincide with the 26th anniversary of his swearing-in, this collection includes over 100 of his shortest concurring opinions. Justice Thomas is a master of the concurring opinion and particularly of short concurring opinions. This collection is made with the hope of encouraging modern American readers with short attention spans to consider reading the difficult texts produced by the Supreme Court. Justice Thomas is an enigmatic figure who has held a position of tremendous influence for over a quarter century. With the recent death of his presumed mentor and the quieting of brouhaha over that stolen seat, this may be a moment for Justice Thomas to dive deeper into his legacy. To turn pun on the title and theme of this book collection, the concurring opinions in this book offer an opportunity to review how Justice Thomas conquers. Of course, concurs is not usually synonymous with conquers, but if it only meant agree then there would have been no reason to write separately.
