Augusta National Golf Club, which runs the event. The stories of each year the tournament has been played, starting in 1934, are grouped into chapters that each have a unifying theme. The tournament progresses from the early years when the tournament quickly established itself, to the era when Sam Snead and Ben Hogan dominated, the time when Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus brought the tournament into the television age, a couple of decades of European dominance, and finally the Tiger Woods era. Within that framework, each year has its own story to tell as the Augusta National course provides the perfect setting for drama involving the game's greatest players.
