The year is nineteen eighty-five, and thirty-one-year-old Katherine looks back over her life and asks herself several challenging questions. Where do I belong? Is there any hope for me left? Can I survive another day?
Sadly, no answers to her plaguing questions come to her muddled mind.
Slumping back in an armchair that has seen better days, she gulps back the last of the strong Irish whiskey in her glass. A fiery liquid which she had far too much of this night. Yet she firmly believes it helps her to cope with a life that has become desolate and full of such cruelty.
Soon, she reflects on a time when she was young, beautiful, and carefree. Yet more quickly, the smile she briefly wore as she embraced a lovely memory fades away, and in its place are tears of despair that fall heavily from her eyes.
Again, more questions flood her tormented mind,

Expelling a large breath of air held tightly in her lungs, Katherine intensely stares out the window that faces the dense and ominous woods before her.
