The Establishment of Spanish Rule in America, AN INTRODUCTION TO THE HISTORY AND POLITICS OF SPANISH AMERICA has been written to present the main events connected with the establishment of Spanish rule in America, and to describe briefly the more important features of Spain’s colonial organization and policy. It aims, by the use of certain historical facts, to make clear to ordinary readers and to students in high schools and colleges the origin and character of the political and economic institutions constructed for the government of Spanish America
