Charles Grandison Finney, the famed fiery revivalist of the Second Great Awakening, has been regarded by some as the greatest Christian evangelist since the days of the apostles. It is estimated that 500,000 people were converted to Christ by his bold, sincere, preaching in the course of his devoted life. Finney seems to have had the power of impressing the consciences of men with the necessity of holy living in such a manner as to procure the most lasting results above any other, with a full 85% of converts remaining steadfast to the end. In this booklet, Finney identifies the causes, signs, and symptoms of backsliding in the heart, even before it manifests outwardly. Following that, he prescribes the cure, that we may forever be true, in a sincere and lively faith.
