Stay Tuned was written by Cameroonian education specialists and reflects the concerns and recommendations of the 1995 National Forum on Education. All units revolve around relevant, realistic and topical themes that are based on the needs of the Cameroonian child. Main features: • It fully covers the requirements of the proposed syllabus and that of a modern curriculum • the communicative approach is successfully integrated with the tried and trusted approaches of traditional language teaching • listening activities are carefully graded to ensure that all students can participate in communicative situations • It is a participatory course that draws on student's prior knowledge and allows each student to contribute to the learning process • students are exposed to a variety of dialogues, descriptive and narrative passages, as well as some authentic texts • a variety of drawings and photographs enhance the text and encourage understanding.
