Time may be the least-understood concept modern physics encounters on a daily basis, but we probably hold more pieces of the puzzle than we think. Surprising experimental results and tantalizing theories abound in fields where time is part of the investigations. What has generally been lacking are attempts to assemble these into better models of time and put them into plain language.
This text attempts to formulate an intuitively satisfying theory of time based on some of these results. It brings together the philosophical concept of holons (with a four dimensional twist), the 'subjective observations' or Qbist interpretations of quantum mechanics, and the idea that taken together these allow an intuitively satisfying understanding of how the laws of quantum mechanics express themselves at macroscopic scales. Various phenomena that are perplexing from a Newtonian worldview can be explained by this model. This book explores psychological flow, agency, and prayer, encompassing all previously published work on the subject. .
