Our friend's daughter invited us to their wedding, indeed they asked if my partner would perform the humanist wedding, in Montecatini Val di Cecina, Tuscany, Italy. We flew into Pisa, to spend a short time sightseeing, around the leaning tower, before hiring a car, and heading off to the wedding venue Tenuta Mocajo. From there we travelled to Florence and Siena, doing all the things which tourists do: Spending too long in queues, eulogising too frequently about the gelato, which was scrumptious, and then some, everywhere, but especially for our first taste, in the side streets of Pisa, leading to the leaning tower. The wedding venue was a remote Chateaux, in the middle of nowhere, five kilometres from the road. The location was perfect, with its ancient chapel being idyllic for the marriage ceremony.I had the chance, from here, to roam in the Tuscany landscape, this in turn influenced my mood, and my words. I meditated in the morning sunshine, beside the flowery meadows. The cities then brought another kind of beauty, and presence; art is ubiquitous, church is ubiquitous, style is ubiquitous, food is ubiquitous, life is ubiquitous.I hope the poetry captures something of these magical times.
