Overtaken

In the not too distant future, a monumental moment occurs.



The moment so many longed to happen.

The moment so many never thought would.

The stuff of movies, come to life before the world's eye.



Aliens.



They did not come in peace.

They did not come on a five year journey to explore strange new worlds.

They sure did not come for candy and to phone home.



Creatures from a distant galaxy are motivated by the thing that has motivated all on Earth for millennia:

Conquest.



The attackers, known to Earth as "Oppressors," have made their terms brutally simple: surrender quickly and quietly, and perhaps you might be one of the lucky few we choose to let live... for the moment.



In spite of the top brass and greatest minds of Earth working on a strategy to defeat the deep space demons, they can find no holes in the Oppressor's defenses.



There is always some light at the end of the tunnel, though, and the one ray of hope for all the world's people is Josh Nichols, one soft-spoken coder working in the Pentagon, the most powerful military in the world. Unfortunately, there's no sweet significant other to bring home to the folks, as Nichols led the single, solemn life of a computer-loving nerd.

On the very day that the planet is changed by the presence of the Oppressors, Nichols has his world personally rocked when he gives a ride to Kamryn Reynolds. The blonde beauty happens to be a hacker possessing genius level intelligence and a rap sheet a mile long. She is in the midst of fleeing police custody the day her path crosses with Nichols.

There's no time to worry about government duties or minor hacking offenses when the fate of Earth is at stake-- Nichols finds himself assigned to hacking into the mainframe of the Oppressor mothership. This, of course, is an impossible request-- at least, it would be, if a computer genius and his new world class hacker associate weren't on the case.

It's a race against time as Nichols and Reynolds work to find a way into the system as the impending doom promised by the Oppressors looms over Earth.

Will the Oppressors discover their ingenious plot?

Will the Earth ever be the same again?
