On the Wings of the Little Bee. (Book I.) A Flight Around the Globe in Epigrams and Poetic Images. By Karl Heinrich Ulrichs. 1875. A little bee circles the globe and collects honey from all of the countries it flies through. The booklet contains jokes and things serious, fun and defiance. It features preferably very short poems tapered toward epigrams or humor, miniature paintings, so to speak. But there are also some longer poems interspersed: poetic images. In this genre of poetry, the author prefers to dwell on Iceland, Scandinavia and the mythological legends of Northern Germany. Original title: Auf Bienchens Flügeln.
