MY HOMEBOY is the first part of a sequel-storyline from the Quad-book series HEXED HOMEBOYS, which tells a seemingly tragic love story from a first-person's point of view. It shares the story of the pursuance and reincarnation of a happily ever after between best friends, that may or may not end so: "Happily Ever After".

Larshay Shameera Dotac (Shay) is a Twenty-year-old thriving LMT Career/Businesswoman, who seems to have everything going for herself, including her virginity. That's right, Shay is STILL a Virgin who is saving her virtue for Mr. Right, or should I say her Best-Friend, Orlando. Growing up in a conservative home, she becomes intrigued by the thrilling life he lives., falling into a mild obsession with the sexy and unpredictable thug he develops into. Orlando is a Twenty-year-old Millionaire Entrepreneur, and very dreamy Gang Member, who was dealt an unfavorable hand in life to begin with. Growing up unfortunate, he had to take care of himself by any means necessary. Trapped in survival-mode since childhood, he gains money rapidly. The fast life engulfs him, so he starts indulging irresponsibility with millions in his left hand, and Shay in his right. Meeting in the second grade, Shay and Orlando become close friends instantly, solidifying a soul-bond so strong it stays with them into their adulthood and beyond. Shay, who has a professional good-girl type of persona, and Orlando with the ability to "network in high places", work together to make them the power duo of their town. What happens when Shay starts to develop stronger feelings for her "bestie" that is more romantic? Although she is unsure if he feels the same for her as well, would her obsession with him render her helpless to stay away from the side of him that she should for the experience of their journey together? Or will she find herself entangled in a web of gang violence engulfed by the tantalizingly dangerous job that is Orlando? Will their power duo become too toxic to have in the eyes of the Law, Gang, or Universe? She may have to find out the hard way that in the end, no matter how many lives you get to live, there is NO way you can EVER: mix business with pleasure.
