Defiant perfectly describes the 1980 New Zealand Olympic Team as they faced almost insurmountable odds to achieve their dream of competing in an Olympic Games. The New Zealand government agreed to a boycott of the Moscow Olympics after the call came from the United States as a result of the Russian occupation of Afghanistan. This is the story of one man's fight against the authorities and how he became one of the eight members representing New Zealand at the 1980 Moscow games. A previously untold story of the New Zealand involvement in the boycott of the Moscow Olympics, that had been airbrushed from New Zealand sports history, up until now.
