Beskrivelse
Diabetes is a metabolic disorder characterized by high levels of glucose in the blood. It occurs when the body is unable to properly produce or use insulin, a hormone that regulates blood sugar levels.
There are two types of diabetes: type 1 and type 2. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks and destroys the cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. This results in little to no insulin production, leading to high blood sugar levels. Type 2 diabetes, on the other hand, occurs when the body becomes insulin resistant, meaning it does not respond properly to insulin. This causes high blood sugar levels as well
