Beskrivelse
The young boy, Little Feather, starts each day by honoring Creator. He greets each direction: East, South, West, North, plus Father Sky, Mother Earth, and within. He decides that today he wants to feel happy and looks for ways to fulfill that intent. At the end of the day, he smiles to each direction, with a thankful heart. Then, he rests peacefully with the moon shining down on him. We could all learn to live so well.
In this simple ceremony, you center yourself within the Divine. Here you stand between the expansive sky and the supportive earth, honoring All That Is. Your connection within brings balance. Setting your intent for the day is a powerful practice. You choose the tone and no matter what the circumstance, coming back to that loving choice is life-affirming. This simple practice takes very little time, yet may provide a touchstone for life.
Each direction represents multiple concepts. East begins the day as the sun rises and also represents spring and newborns. South stands for noon, summer, and childhood. West ends the day with sunset and reminds us of autumn and adulthood. North calls to mind the silence of midnight, winter, and our elders. It is good to acknowledge that our light touches all and to choose a healthy attitude to radiate. In this practice, we honor all our relatives, which includes everyone everywhere.
Beautifully illustrated, this book is a must for Earth Day and may become one your child wants to read over and over.
