This book is an excerpt from the dissertation "Traces and vestiges of the literacy teacher's production practices: a history to be considered in continuing education", developed in the Postgraduate Program in Public Policies and Educational Management, in the line of research Pedagogical Management and Educational Contexts. Its theme is the production practices of literacy teachers. The research, inspired by post-structuralist studies, especially Foucauldian studies, operates with the notion of governmentality as a tool to answer the following question: How do the production practices of literacy teachers emerge in Brazil and what would be powerful to know when training literacy teachers in continuing education programs?In the analyses, it was possible to say that the production of the literacy teacher is one of the mobilized strategies that are linked to the order of governing and conducting teachers within a rationality that aims to include everyone and manage risks in which the teacher is produced and is produced within neoliberal governmentality as an economically productive and politically useful teacher: the literacy teacher.
