Dear Beloved Parents, Grandparents, Caregivers, and Avid Readers,
There is no better time than the present to embark on the exciting journey of embracing and understanding fundamental values such as kindness, compassion, sensitivity, empathy, forgiveness, altruism, and faith in God. These values are timeless and ageless, guiding us throughout our lives. There is no age too early to start learning them!
Within the pages of this book are nine delightful poems inspired by Jesus's powerful teachings in the Sermon on the Mount (scroll down for a sample). These poems are crafted to offer children an engaging and relatable roadmap to moral behavior, using the enchanting power of relatable stories, simple words, and playful rhymes.
The distilled essence of Jesus's Beatitudes has the incredible ability to mold the hearts and minds of our little ones. While children may not have the same level of mental development as adults, their ability to experience emotions is just as real. It is our sacred duty to provide guidance and support, helping them navigate and comprehend the beautiful spectrum of emotions that God has bestowed upon them. By mastering these core values early on, children can more easily live them out as they grow, deepening their understanding not of religious legalistic behavior but of God's love and care for His creation.
While these poems are written with young kids in mind, they are for everyone, young and old! As we journey through life, we sometimes forget that Jesus's teachings are meant to be woven into our everyday interactions with those around us, shaping our perspective of God, ourselves, and others. While we strive to lead by example for our children, we must also be open to the invaluable lessons they can teach us. Through their innocent eyes, they can help us rediscover the clarity and simplicity that we may have lost as we matured.
