In the Buckle of the Belt is a must-read case study for every college student aspiring for a career in education, the professors who prepare these students, and citizens concerned by the unrelenting resolve of far right-winged conservatives to push a Christian agenda in our public school system. Michael Maynard, a socialist, secular humanist, and award-winning teacher, was forced out of two high schools in the same school district by principals more concerned with student Christian values than student academic success.
