Modern martial art German Ju-Jutsu, also referred to as "Deutsches Ju-Jutsu" or "DJJ," was created in Germany. It is a hybrid martial art that integrates elements of wrestling and boxing in addition to techniques from traditional Japanese martial arts including Judo, Jujutsu, Aikido, and Karate.
Practical self-defense techniques that are applicable to real-life scenarios are emphasized in German Ju-Jutsu. These techniques include strikes, joint locks, throws, and ground combat. Additionally, instruction in weapon defense and scenarios involving multiple attackers is included.
Sparring sessions are typically incorporated into German Ju-Jutsu training, during which practitioners implement the techniques they have learned and practiced in controlled, dynamic situations. In addition to belt classification systems, numerous German Ju-Jutsu organizations utilize them to quantify levels of proficiency and advancement in the art.
