Blockchain, which started to emerge in 2016 and 2017 as a real-world tech option, is poised to alter IT in much the same way open source software did a quarter of a century ago. And just as Linux took more than a decade to become a cornerstone in modern application development, it is likely that Blockchain will take years to become a lower cost, more efficient way of sharing information and data between open and private business networks.
