Frontkampfer I: Blitzkrieg 1939-1942 is a collection of rare photographs, many of which have never been published before, highlighting the German war machine in the early years of the Second World War. Beginning in September 1939 with the invasion of Poland, the reader will follow the German military as it conquers France, the Balkans, and North Africa, before sweeping deep into the Soviet Union during Operation Barbarossa. Frontkampfer I: Blitzkrieg 1939-1942 reaches its crescendo as the German military occupies the Caucasus Mountains region and advances to the frontier of Asia, before being repelled by the Red Army at the horrific Battle of Stalingrad on the banks of the Volga River in the winter of 1942.
