This short book is an outline of the laws and regulations relating to employment in England and Wales. It is for reference for those employing and employed in the rural community, and will be a primer for university and college students reading land and estate management. It charts the significant changes that have been made to the area of employment law over the last two decades, and highlights the areas that need to be considered in farming and rural land management, such as employment tribunals and ACAS's role in resolving disputes and grievances, seasonal workers, work visas and gangmaster legislation. It clearly lays out the legal requirements of contracts of employment, all aspects of discrimination ranging from age and disability, sexual orientation, marriage, pregnancy, race and religion to unfair or wrongful dismissal and redundancy.
