Summary: It's 2164, and a dynasty of evil nobility- the Daens- have taken over the world, overthrowing civil government and starting a society of oppression and injustice. Intelligence and creativity are crimes, the punishment being execution at 15. Now, Calysea McDrumond, a rebellious almost-fifteen girl, is due to be executed in a week. She dreams of escape, and when a mysterious gift comes to her- in the shape of a fifteen-year-old boy- she does, with her friends Eryf and Kan and a handful of ragged Outcasts.
