Callahan and Dax become separated when the big gray cat inadvertently hitches a ride eastbound with a lady barrel racer named Malone who's off to her next pro rodeo competition. When Callahan jumped into her trailer, it was because he spotted a stowaway in need, a frightened young teen named Joss who doesn't want to talk about her injuries.
From the moment of their arrival in Georgia, Callahan knows the sparks will fly between Malone Summers and the rodeo's Director of Operations, Cade Delaney. Those two have a history that somehow involved broken hearts. It's clear to Callahan that Cade wants a second chance and Malone isn't willing.
But there are bigger things at stake when rodeo competitors start dying under suspicious circumstances. And what's the story with Joss, who is clearly terrified that the person she ran away from will catch up with her. Callahan is determined to find out the answers, and he's one cat who knows how to follow the clues and catch a killer.
