Calixta is the first book in a new series, The Vanquishers of Alhambra, is a real page-turner. Calixta was resigned to her role, and she made the best of what she had, until the day she tried to save the life of her best friend and died saving her and her unborn baby's life. Thus, starts the story when celestial beings discover, that by Calixta's many selfless actions and dying to save the life of an unborn child as a Vanquisher, erased all her evils. So, they broke the rules, interceded, gave her some gifts, used this clinch in the system, and gave her life back. After all, she was destined to be one of four Vanquishers whose task is to safeguard those with natural-born magic and redress any imbalances caused by the upsurgence of evil.
Meanwhile, upon her return to the living, Jadro the Evil one's emissary found out she regained her task and wants her dead. She makes the fourth; the four can never get together.
Can Calixta learn to be a true Vanquisher? Will she survive the demons Jadro send who chase her? And along her journey, will those that fallow, aid, and guide her have the strength and magic necessary to kill the evils that lurk in the Dark?
