Burnley is a town of contrasts. It is situated in a pleasant valley, surrounded by moors teeming with heather and wildlife. The town itself is dominated by the ever-present Pendle Hill, which provides one of the finest backdrops to any settlement in England. The area around Burnley is wonderful walking country.
