BOOGERS FOR BREAKFAST - DESCRIPTION Swell Old LADY (aka Queen Alexandra) is driving her two grandchildren, Sasha and Jake Powderhound, ages seven and eleven, to the movies. Sasha is picking her nose and trying to hide it. "You know, dear," says the grandma, "everybody likes to pick their nose. But where do they put the boogers?" This comment inspires a series of jokes, leading to explosive laughter. "Pop it under the table," says Sasha. "Just wipe it inside your pants," says Jake. By this time, they are laughing so hard they have to pull off the road. Now, two years later, we have the masterwork that grew out of that hilarious day: BOOGERS FOR BREAKFAST, with contributions from the entire family, a feast for funny bones of all ages. Look for big laughs and hidden ones - what is that thing in the skeleton's throat? Where do you see booger music notes? Don't miss the hysterical bibliography and acknowledgments. Are there teachable moments? Yes. Several on every page. But we recommend that so-called grownups refrain from lectures and let the kids figure it out for themselves.
