Beskrivelse
Adorno, in his conception of art, attempts a dialectical mediation of the two representative modern aesthetics: that of Kant and that of Hegel. Central to this project is the concept of aesthetic truth: works of art are a medium of truth, but this truth is only to be experienced and not to be understood. Wonho Lee examines in detail the problematic consequences of this conception and proposes a revision that enables us to stay true to Adorno's fundamental idea that aesthetic experience is to be understood as a form of critique.
