A Rose Blooms in Winter: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness A Black Rose is a difficult rose to not only find but also to create. It has been given a bad connotation yet its beauty is matched by none. To have one grow in the harsh winter snow is all the more precious and glorious. Globally, Blacks/African-Americans/those of color have been symbolic of this type of rose for centuries; yet we still grow and bloom within the harsh conditions we continue to face. This book is a collection of thoughts that reflect the need to continue to overcome these obstacles and to collectively develop into a beautiful bloomed rose that stands above the oppressiveness of the cold snow.
