Of the 590 pages of text, approximately 275 pages are devoted to complete genealogical histories of more than 800 families, from the five contiguous counties of St. Charles, Montgomery, Warren, Audrain, and Callaway. with an additional 54 pages devoted to the life of Daniel Boone. The book also contains historical information on the initial days in Missouri, religious matters, affairs of government, the Indian War, the New Madrid Earthquakes, as well as other antiquities.
