Born in an intellectual family in Poland Warsaw in 1867, Madame Curie was originally called Marie Sklodowska. She was clever and studious from her childhood. She graduated from Warsaw Women''s Public Middle School with the first place at the age of sixteen. Later, because of poverty, she was unable to go to college.She became a private teacher and earned tuition. Eight years later, she finally entered the University of Paris. Due to her hard work, she got her bachelor''s degree in physics and mathematics with the first and second grades.
