Unworthy but Welcome: A Guide for Starting Overcomers and Serenity Church is a companion volume to Never Alone Again by John Featherston and contains heart- and mind-changing testimonies of individuals associated with Serenity Church of Dallas, located in The Colony, Texas.

Serenity Church is a place where broken people find healing, the lonely find a home, the hopeless find hope, the outcast is welcomed, the powerless find power, and the broken have the pieces put back together. Serenity Church welcomes those with tattoos, body piercings, and long hair--as well as those who don't. Serenity Church is a place that is reaching out with the restoring power of God to people who are sick and tired of being sick and tired. First, we begin to change our minds about being lovable. Unworthy but Welcome provides examples and testimonies regarding the purpose of Serenity Church of Dallas and how it functions, including step-by-step meeting directions and examples of Overcomers Topic Introductions and Shares for each of the traditional Overcomers 12 Steps. The difference here is the recognition the Higher Power is a person and has a name: Jesus Christ.

Unworthy but Welcome is compiled for the one who has been wounded and tends to run away from church; the one seeking to know, even more, the mind, heart, and will of God; anyone struggling to hold on to sobriety, sanity, or life; anyone begging God for sobriety - for them self or a loved one; anyone who has heard of Serenity Church and wants to know how to start one where they live.
