... >In the middle of June, the Governor left Quebec on a tour through the Province, attended with a numer ous suite, and travelled in magnificent style. Several of the citizens of three-rivers, Montreal, Saint Johns, and William Henry, successively received him with Addresses of applause and thanks, for the interposition of the royal prerogative in dissolving the House of Assembly. These addresses being inserted in the pub lic prints, were criticised in the Canadian with much asperity and abuse.
